New Talent Joins Istria

Istria is proud to welcome leading talent from the world of risk management to its expanding organisation. This expansion has led to the recruitment of key personnel in the field of its international operations, consultancy business and software development team.

US Operations

In conjunction with the release of Version 3.0 of the leading risk management software IRIS, Istria is making the product commercially available in North America for the first time. The US office opened in Denver, Colorado in August 2006 in preparation with the official product launch on 1 October.

Istria is delighted to welcome Dan Shikiar on board to lead efforts in North America. Dan joins following many successful years working in the field of risk and project management. Most recently Dan was Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Palisade Corporation who produce @Risk - the leading edge statistical analysis tool that is incorporated within IRIS. Prior to that Dan worked as a risk specialist with Decisioneering Inc and brings a wealth of experience in oil & gas, manufacturing, aerospace & defence and technology.

Risk Consultancy

Istria are also extremely pleased to welcome Charles “Chuck” Ducher as the new Head of Risk Consulting. Chuck brings with him over 20 years Programme and Project Management experience in Systems Engineering, Quality Engineering, Production and, of course, Risk.

Chuck has provided high quality risk management advice to clients in all industries with a particular emphasis on Aerospace & Defence. Recent work includes Risk Consultancy to the UK’s Ministry of Defence (MoD), the US Department of Defence (DoD) and the Defence Logistic Agency (DLA). Most recently he was the Head of Risk Management for European Multi-National Defence Organisation OCCAR (Organisation for Joint Armaments).

Software Development

Demand for the leading edge risk management system IRIS continues to grow and, as a result Istria is pleased to announce a new member of the development team, Sarah Goodway. Sarah joins with an excellent record of Computer Systems Engineering, including a Bachelor’s Degree from Warwick University and a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Bristol.

Istria is delighted to have recruited these top tier candidates and we are certain they will enable Istria to continue its proud record of outstanding customer service and excellence in Risk Management.

In May, Istria will be exhibiting at the Project Management Institute (PMI) EMEA Global Congress in Budapest. In addition to being able to visit the stand, we would like to invite you to attend our speaker presentation by Colin Wheeler, Technical Director. The session is entitled “Back to Basics: How to generate value through risk management”. It will focus on ways to determine the return on investment from risk mitigation and be able to prioritise limited budgets. Also in May, Istria will be attending the Project Risk Symposium in San Francisco.
